Bees In A Bottle is the indie folk/rock band of Christine and Chad McAllister. Sometimes appearing with a full band, other times as a duo, Bees In A Bottle has a strong element of intimacy to their shows. Their songs are introspective and crafted around Christine’s crystalline voice, while Chad’s guitar is interwoven as an ethereal echo or a statement of intensity all its own. The band’s debut album, Quiet Room was released in the summer of 2013. Their second, Heartsleeve EP, was released in late 2014. Both records were produced by the band and recorded in Philadelphia, with Grammy award-winning producer/engineer, Glenn Barratt. The band has humbly and steadily honed its voice, gaining airplay on AAA and internet radio, placing a top ten song on the independent charts for Women Of Substance Radio and ranking #4 on SBS Music reader’s poll for Best New Sound, 2014.
Pale Blue Sky: Formed in Portland, Oregon in late 2007 by singer / songwriter/guitarist Pete Vercellotti, a transplanted native of Cleveland, OH. Pale Blue Sky found its momentum with Joel Boutwell on Bass, Jason Mockley on Drums, Peter Boone on Guitar, and Michele Heile on Percussion. The group’s sound is essentially modern-day roots-rock, building from the classic recordings of Bob Dylan, the Band, and Neil Young channelled through latter bands like Uncle Tupelo, Dinosaur Jr, and Screaming Trees. It is Neil Young’s work with Crazy Horse that especially has drawn comparisons. Like Young, Vercellotti crafts melodic, pop-oriented tunes played with electric-guitar-drenched intensity.
