Tigers of Youth is a Portland-based music project creating bright-edged soul-rock. After playing in music groups on the East Coast for several years, and releasing several albums, Dave Wentz moved out to Portland in late 2015 and began reaching out to musicians in the area, crossing paths with Jon Mintz, and Jacob Schebetta. The music features high energy beats, bright guitars, and catchy melodies. Always dancing between bright-edged power pop and heavy-soul rock, “Tigers of Youth” creates music that reflects being young at heart.
Impulse Control is a three-man alt-rock/post-punk/power pop band in the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon. Impulse Control formed in late 2014, but have since won Battle of the Bands at the Golden County Fair 2015, released a full-length album “Welcome to the Fold”, been featured on the compilation CD “South of Portland: Music of the Rogue Valley” and listed in The Rogue Valley Messenger’s “Best Local Albums of 2016”.
Alongside the band’s original compositions, Impulse Control has gained local notoriety for their punk reinterpretations of Top 40 hits from the likes of Taylor Swift and Britney Spears. And every show, Impulse Control takes audience suggestions to create a brand new song just for that show.
