Small Million, There Is No Mountain, Maxwell Cabana

Wednesday April 26 @ 8:30 pm - 11:30 pm

$7

Dan Cable presents

Portland duo Small Million (Ryan Linder & Malachi Graham) met on the dance floor and got busy polishing their moody, lyrical synth pop. Rich, textured tracks with soaring melodies; wistful and cautiously optimistic.
Since their song Six Feet was selected for the PDX Pop Now! compilation in 2014, they have been hard at work crafting songs that blend Malachi’s melodic roots in Americana with Ryan’s eclectically influenced electronic layering. They released their debut EP, Before the Fall, in June 2016 and were called one of “Five Portland artists to watch” by Vortex Magazine.

There Is No Mountain

Formed in 2016, Maxwell Cabana and his band are a garage, R&B three-piece residing in Portland, Oregon. Members include Seattle-native Murray McCulloch, as well as Chicago born brothers Sean and Jamie Higgins. Their latest release is a self-titled debut EP that combines the trio’s love for old school R&B/Soul music as well as an affinity for psychedelic jazz. The band’s influences range from Tim Maia to Madlib, Donny Hathaway to Gorillaz. Maxwell Cabana performs live shows in the Portland area and is currently writing material for the group’s first full-length album.
