Blushbutton is a rock power trio from Portland, OR led by two trans women: guitarist/vocalist Vivian Brockett and bassist Heather Salisbury. They met over breakfast in the summer of 2021, unsure if their rendezvous was a date, or simply a precursor to an impromptu jam. Thankfully, it was the latter. A couple months later, the girls brought on percussionist Joe O’Connor. The trio began creating arrangements of Vivian’s acoustic songs that took on the dynamic excitement of their influences: Built to Spill, Pixies, and Rush, to name a few. After cutting their teeth at dive bar shows, they recorded their debut LP, Glowing Home, at Portland’s legendary Jackpot Recording. They continue to connect joyously with their audiences, performing a rollicking-yet-intimate live set.

Hi Glow formed during the pandemic from a friendly Craigslist ad between Tyler Rachal and Keith Vidal. The two shared music recordings and ideas via dropbox before masking up and testing the live chemistry. After a few rehearsals a sound started to surface reminiscent of 90s experimental bands Sonic Youth, Sebadoh, Unwound, and Failure. Shortly after, their debut EP was released from Peel Studios (Seattle) available on bandcamp. Andrea Tragesser joined the group on Bass rounding out the “sludgegazy sound”. Since then, Hi Glow has played a handful of shows between Portland and Seattle gaining a solid fan base along the way.
